RACE FOR THE KANSAS…Senate.  Representative Joe Patton gave us a preview of his campaign to be elected to the Kansas Senate.  Speaking to a full house of Optimist members and guests Joe outlined his reasons for wanting to move from the House of Representatives over to the State Senate side. 

He also gave some insights to how things are accomplished in the way of finding monies to help pass laws. One example was his finding money to help keep KNI open.  The key was “bottled water.”  Joe found the amount of money the State was spending on bottled water was enough to fund KNI! The State no longer buys bottle water and KNI is open.  Thanks Joe for the insights and for giving us a preview of the up coming campaign.

 TUNEFUL…December meetings. The club will NOT meet this Friday.  Have a HAPPY & FULL Thanksgiving! (GOBBLE – GOBBLE.)  Next time we meet will be Friday, December 2th. Every meeting in December we will be entertained by a vocal choral group from one of the schools in Topeka.

WOW…we had another FULL house for the meeting. If my K.U. math is correct we had 36 people. All four tables were full and the head table had four people.  Thanks Joe for bringing out fiends and family to help fill up the room.  Now lets do it with NEW OPTIMIST MEMBERS.

TRADY TOM…Wigley left the meeting before his badge number was called thus missing out on the delicious chocolate Santa. (BURP – I hear it was quite good.)
