Elaine Bleicher
This person called the District Office and was referred to the Archivist. She was trying to find information on the Seifert family. She said that she found them at Trinity, Hermansburg and later at Trinity, Ludell. She mentioned that she had recently visited both places and had found very little information. She said that while visiting with Pastor Donald White, Redeemer, Atwood, he indicated that some information had been sent to the District Archives in Topeka. I checked and the District has nothing about the church in Ludell, except an anniversary plate with the picture of the church on it. I also check the file that I had received from the Archives in St. Louis and they had some school and LLL records, but no official records. I emailed Mrs. Bleicher and told her that I could find nothing. She responded, indicated that she was disappointed but not surprised. She thanked me and voiced her appreciation that I had indicated that I would continue to search.
On Saturday, Aug. 21st, I called Rev. White to ask if he had found anything. He indicated that he had not, but pointed out that the two churches were named Immanuel rather that Trinity. He indicated that a previous pastor had passed away while service the parish in Ludell and when the family came to take his belongings, they burning his personal papers and also many of the official records of the church. He was not surprised that the District did not have anything. He asked me to inform her that we had reached a dead end on her search. I had previously indicated that I would check the newspaper records at the Kansas State History Center, but it will not be for a while.
She specifically wanted the baptismal information for George Seifert, Oct 11, 1885; Caroline Lena Seifert, Feb 12 1887 and Friedrich Seifert who passed away on Mar 3, 1890. She indicated that Carolina died at Ludell but was taken to Hannover for burial.
