From the Smith County Pioneer
Ole was turning 75 and was overweight, so his doctor put him on a diet. The doctor said, "I want you to eat regularly for two days, and the skip a day, and repeat this procedure for two weeks. The next time I see you, you should have lost at least five pounds.
When Ole returned, he shocked the doctor by having lost 50 pounds. "Why that is amazing," the doctor said, "Did you follow my instructions?" Old nodded, "I tell you, though, by gosh, I thought I wuz gonna drop dead on dat third day'"
"From hunger, you mean?" asked the doctor. "Heck no, it wuz from al dat darn skipping!"
