"The Alchemist Pot"
"1880 - 3 Branches - 1,000 Kids"
January 20, 2012                                Vol 1 No 13

1880 YMCA ... came to Topeka. Junior Elder said that was a very good year for Topeka Citizens. Charles Lord, the Y's Executive Director filled us in on the many activities happening in Topeka as a result of the Y's presence in our community. Over 1,000 kinds will be taking part in the Y's youth basketball program this year. And Camp Hammond continues to host dad/son campouts.

NEXT WEEK ... our speaker is with the Topeka Shawnee County Library Foundation.

AS GRANDPA JONES ... used to say on Hee-Haw, Downtown Topeka Optimist Club chili and sweet roll reed "Yum-Yum!" This next Friday, January 27th. Thanks to all who signed up to help with this event. Sell those tickets and bring some baked goods for Nancy to sell. Almost as good as possum and grits.

FRIDAY FRIENDS ... should be invited to join us for lunch. Lets get a lot of our Friends coming and joining our Club. There was mention of ladies hats. You have been warned.

M. Hogue was the pot -- B. Holt won the badge draw -- N. Foster won the attendance list shout out. (We have the M&M's waiting)
