Current News:
July 22 Speaker – Carol Bragdon, RN, Cotton-O’Neil Heart Center. Talked about heart disease, giving us the guidelines used for treatment of Cholosterol, Blood Pressure and High Triglycerides. Some of the guidelines she gave were that physicians consider 120/80 as a healthy Blood Pressure. Our Total Cholesterol should be 200 or less, LDL (lousey, lethal or bad) Cholesterol less than 100 or if history of heart disease or diabetes that number should be 70 or below. The HDL (good or healthy) Cholesterol should be 60 or higher. Triglycerides should be below 150. We should follow our physicians orders of diet, exercise and medication to maintain healthy levels.

July 29 Speaker – Dr. Gary McKnight and Tim Willingham. Dr. McKnight started off with him playing the guitar and singing an original song of his “The Cape” and telling us we must take a leap of faith sometimes. Dr. McKnight is a musician in addition to his practice, the treatment of dizziness, balance and hearing disorders. He talked with about how our eyes, ears and legs work together to keep us in balance. He told us about why problems occur and the treatment of these issues. Tim Willingham runs the Physical Therapy part of the center and told us about how we need to keep our core center balance. Of course, exercise helps with this.

Note for Rod

Attached is a copy of the registration form so those who would like to come to Sat Lunch with OI President Danny or would like to attend the Banquet can fill it out and return to us. Also if anyone who did not sign up for the Picnic they can let me know so we can get a head count it is FREE.

We need to have a good turn out at both the picnic and the Banquet to support Nancy as Lt Gov.

We also need help in the hospitality room so please let me know if you can help. It is not hard work just need to be in the room to make sure everything is set up and socialize with people.
